Design and Implementation of Multi-Sensor Embedded Bed for the Earthquake Protection

Abstract
Earthquakes are one of the natural disasters caused by the movement of earth crust. Due to the sudden occurrence, they can cause large-scale loss of life and property. In this context, it is very important to detect earthquakes in advance and provide a safe environment for people. Sensor systems, in many different areas, facilitate the work of people, and allow systems to be managed. User interactive systems, that include sensor systems, can be used in general to provide information to people about their environment, to give warnings under undesirable conditions and to ensure the safety of homes and workplaces. In this study, earthquake detection studies were performed based on the acceleration and vibration sensors inside the bed system in a certain environment. The sensor data are processed with arduino microcontroller. After the earthquake is detected, the motor that inside bed, closes the cover of the bed. Once it closes the cover of the bed, the oxygen cylinder operates and gives oxygen to the people. The location of the people who were buried under the rubble after the earthquake can identify with the help of RF tracking system. In this way, it is ensured that the person/persons in the bed are affected by the least damage from the earthquake.
