A seminar on “Road Safety Awareness” was jointly convened by Arasu Engineering College, Kumbakonam and Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (Kumbakonam Zone) in the college premises.
The principal Dr.T. Balamurugan welcomed the gathering. The Managing director of TNSTC, Mr. Ponmudi delivered the presidential address.
Dy. Manager, TNSTC Mr. Adhappan, Vice principal Dr. Kalaimani Shanmugam, Dean (Academics) Dr. Rukmangathan, Mech HoD Mr. Raghuraman and Automobile HoD Mr. Padmanaban were on the dais.
Mr. Jeevanandam (Special Trainer) during his motivational speech pointed out that due to the utter negligence of the two wheeler drivers most of the road accidents occur. He also made a note with regret, that due to the accidents caused by two wheelers, the bus drivers and their families undergo various miseries without any fault of their own, He insisted on the impending need of wearing the helmet and avoiding drunken drive.
The event came to a close with the thanksgiving note of Mr. Marthandavarman, Dy. Manager (Technical) TNSTC, Kumbakonam.
